Build for the coast. Build with community.
DevFest is here. Bring a problem you care about, leave Week 1 with a working prototype, and then spend the next two weeks improving it.
You don't need to know how to code. Educators, students, small business owners, and first-time builders are all welcome.
DevFest is the world's largest community-led tech conference, hosted by Google Developer Groups in 115 countries. This year, Brunswick is part of it.
Your coast. Your idea. Your first build.
Save your seat for Week 1, and we'll see you in the marsh on October 14.

News from Georgia's coast
Drawdown Georgia highlights 20 climate solutions made for Georgia. Together, they could cut state emissions by 57% by 2030. Curious how Glynn County is doing? Try the free Emissions Tracker.

💡 DID YOU KNOW?
Drawdown Georgia started as research led by Georgia Tech with Emory, Georgia State, and UGA, and today it uses free data tools to show where emissions come from in every Georgia county.
Good news from the dunes! 🐢 Tybee Island and Georgia set new loggerhead nesting records this year, with over 4,200 statewide nests compared to 384 in 2004. Scientists credit decades of coastal conservation work.
Not every climate tool needs a screen. Solved! is a free card game from Drawdown Georgia, made right here in our coastal state. It's low-tech by design: just cards, conversation, and teamwork. That makes it easy to share with anyone, anywhere.

In western Norway, a former olivine mine now holds one of Europe's greenest data centers. Lefdal Mine cools its servers with water from a deep fjord and reaches a PUE of 1.08 to 1.15. In Stockholm, Bahnhof runs its Pionen data center 30 meters under bedrock, inside a Cold War-era shelter.
Microsoft tried going under the sea. Its Project Natick servers failed at one-eighth the rate of servers on land. But sealed pods are hard to upgrade, and the project ended in 2024.
The lesson: the greenest building is sometimes one that already exists.
Developer Takeaway: Efficiency starts with place, not just code. Ask what your environment already offers, then measure it. PUE is a simple, honest benchmark for any sustainability claim.
