A Note from Naomi
The energy in our coastal community has officially reached a boiling point. We just pulled our Q1 Executive Acceleration metrics, and the data proves it: GDG Brunswick is scaling at a record-breaking pace.
We recently crossed a massive milestone: our community is now 501 members strong, with 202 new additions in the last 90 days. That means 40% of our chapterβs entire history was built this spring alone!
We went from an average of 43 builders per session to 140 attendees per event across our 5 hosted and 7 collaborative sessions in the last 90 days alone! You are part of a massive structural shift in the Golden Isles tech ecosystem.
As we open early access to our new Member Directory, I feel so proud of the collaborative playground we are building together. Thank you for showing up, pushing prototypes forward, and proving what's possible.

One of our biggest goals this year was to move beyond temporary event spaces and build a permanent home for our collective brilliance. Today, that home is officially live!
The GDG Brunswick Member Directory is a living builder sandbox designed to foster real-world collaboration. We are already using this database to identify upcoming community speakers, project partners, and future leadership spotlights. Whether you are looking for a collaborator or want to be found, this is the place to be.

The 12-Year-Old "Ocean's Little Girl" Making Global Waves

As technology developers, we often build solutions using screens and code. But this July, we are drawing inspiration from a young changemaker who is tackling a real-world environmental crisis with sheer passion, creativity, and courage.
Meet Thaaragai Aarathana, a 12-year-old from Chennai, India, who has earned the nickname "Ocean's Little Girl." While most kids her age are navigating standard school routines, Thaaragai is spending her time beneath the waves, pioneering a unique form of environmental activism.
ππΎ Mind-Blowing Feats at a Glance:
The Deep Clean: Alongside her father, she has completed over 100 scuba dives, pulling over 7,000 kilograms of plastic waste and ghost nets from marine ecosystems.
Underwater Artivism: To visually sound the alarm on plastic pollution, she performed a flawless Bharatanatyam (classical Indian dance) 20 feet underwater in full traditional attire, relying entirely on internal rhythm and breath control without background music.
Record Breaker: She is one of India's youngest PADI Junior Open Water Divers to be certified.
The Developer Takeaway: Tech innovation is fundamentally about the mindset we bring to broken systems. Thaaragai reminds us that age, environment, and resources are no barriers when you are determined to build a cleaner world.
